Santa Claus 1

In the spirit of the holidays I have decided to make a post about one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. I was watching TV today and a childhood classic came on, or at least for me. The movie was one of my favorites because the humor behind it is one that can never be copied, the movie is heart-filled and the start of an amazing story.

The story follows Scott Calvin (Tim Allen), a recently divorced father who hears a noise coming from outside. He goes to check what the noise is and sees Santa Clause trying to slip down his chimney. He yells at him to get down but he accidentally startles Santa, and Santa plummets off the roof and dies on Scott's front lawn. Feeling guilty Scott puts on Santa's jacket and completes his saintly duties for that Christmas with his son Charlie. The reindeer take Scott back to the north pole where he meets several, old, high spirited elves, who expect him to become Santa forever!

Scott refuses and forces the reindeer to let him return home as his life continues as it had previously. But as Christmas the next year approaches Scott begins to gain a lot of weight and his beard starts to become white. He soon realizes that the only thing that will change his miserable life is to bring up arms and become the new Santa forever.

The story closely resembles other Christmas stories of its time. One man is put in charge of saving Christmas for all of the boys and girls all around the world.
